Configuring a Source

A source in ayona represents a place from which you load your feedback. We continuously expand our built-in integrations, but you also have the flexibility to connect any source using Zapier or the REST API. You can add a new source on the Products & Sources page.

How Sources Work

Each source can either wait for you to send data (e.g., REST API) or load data at periodic intervals or on request (e.g., Google Play Store). During data import, all PII (Personally Identifiable Information) is removed before the feedback is stored in our database. Once stored, the data waits to be processed, which can be automatic or on-demand. Processing includes extracting statements, assigning tags, and more.

Basic Source Configuration

When configuring a source, you will need to provide:

  • Type: The type of the source (e.g., app store, Google Maps).
  • Title: A name for the source.
  • Auto Processing & Interval: Whether data should be loaded periodically and processed automatically when new data is available.
  • Data Sensitivity: Defining custom masking, processing location, and other privacy settings.

Each source type also comes with specific configurations, which you can learn more about in the corresponding integration section.

info

Not all sources support all levels of data sensitivity. Additionally, the available data sensitivity options depend on your subscription plan.
