Importing and Processing Feedback

Once your sources are configured, the next step is to import and process the feedback from them. This section will guide you through the entire process, from importing data to analyzing feedback and generating recommendations.

1. Import Feedback

To begin importing feedback, navigate to the Products & Sources page. Find your configured source and click the Import button. Once the import is complete, you will see the number of feedbacks that were successfully imported.

Alternatively, for every source, you can manually import data via CSV. Switch the mode on the import button to CSV Import and follow the wizard to upload your data.

2. Processing Feedback

Once feedback is imported, you'll be able to process it. On the Products & Sources page, a Process button will appear next to your source. Click this button to start processing the feedback.

During the processing phase, the following actions will take place automatically:

  • Sentiment Analysis: ayona will determine the sentiment (positive, negative, neutral) associated with each feedback.
  • Tag Assignment: Feedback will be tagged based on product features, identifying what part of your product or service is being discussed.
  • Type Identification: Feedback will be classified as a bug report, feature request, or other relevant types.
  • Statement Splitting: Feedback will be split into standalone statements, ensuring each distinct piece of feedback is processed individually.

Depending on the system load, processing may take some time. Once processing is complete, you'll be notified and recommendations will be generated if enough feedback data has been processed.

3. Best Practices for Processing

It’s recommended that, when you first add sources, you process the source with the most feedbacks first. This helps ensure that the initial feature tags for your product are comprehensive and accurate.

tip

The more feedback data processed initially, the better the tags and recommendations will be. Tags can be manually refined or automatically updated in the future.

4. Reviewing and Refining Tags

After the first processing has concluded, you can review and refine the tags generated by ayona. Visit the Tags page to view and edit the tags.

  • Normal Description: Used to assign feedback to specific tags.
  • Detailed Description: Used to generate recommendations. In the detailed description, provide a thorough explanation of each feature for more precise recommendations.
tip

It’s good practice to check and refine tag descriptions after processing. The more detailed and accurate your tag descriptions, the better the quality of future recommendations and feedback matching.
